My most commonly asked question, what is included in the price of wedding stationery?

What goes into the price of your wedding stationery? Some people may ask why does it “cost so much” for wedding invitations, it’s just a piece of paper. Friends, it is SO much more than paper. I’m a little biased being that I’m a stationery designer, but this same question could be asked of  florals, photography, food, etc. There is so much more that goes beyond just a pile of paper at the end of the day. I want to walk you through the custom invitation process to show you what is involved for both myself and my clients.

The Full Design Process

So when I have someone inquire about custom invitations, we chat about all the possible details they want to go into their wedding pieces. The print methods, the paper, the accessories, and so much more. We get to know each other and truly start to envision their big day and how these pieces are going to reflect who they are. I then walk them step-by-step through the design process to create the invitation of their dreams, put together design concepts, digital proofing boards for them to really see it come to life, and so much more. I’ve had many couples say that they did not expect the invitation process to be so much fun. And that is truly the best compliment for me.

The Client Experience

Saying I love my clients is a bit of an understatement. You have to realize that I work with my couples for sometimes 6-12 months. That’s a pretty long time. Over that time we get to know each other (and sometimes even the families!) and a friendship is formed. I am so proud and honored to say that I still stay in touch with some of my amazing couples from years and years ago. One of my business foundations is formed around the client experience. I truly believe that how you make your clients feel during this process is a reflection of you and your business. I love to spoil and surprise my clients, I really think it’s my love language to serve and make people feel loved. You can read a full blog post on my client experience, here.
