Branded Photoshoot Part 1 | My Best Business Decision

In my rebrand launch post I mention 3 tips for anyone rebranding a business or thinking of rebranding a business. One of those tips was hiring a brand photographer, someone who specializes in creating cohesive images to complement your brand. I was lucky enough to work with the amazing Amalie Orrange. Y’all, this lady is a rockstar! Not only is she insanely sweet, she is also super talented. When I was searching for a brand photographer, I knew I wanted someone who’s photographic style matched my brand style; clean, airy, and lots of bright white space. Amalie’s work is exactly that. And let me tell you, she did not disappoint.

I spent about 4 weeks prepping to make sure I had everything ready for Amalie. I spent weeks scouring Hobby Lobby, Home Goods and Target for anything blush, peach, or gold! (Hobby Lobby for the win!). And then I made sure I thought about all the elements that I wanted included in the photos, what specific setups I wanted her to photograph, and I even made a “shot list” for myself to make sure I covered everything that I could possibly want these photos to entail.

I worked with Adair of Dairing Events to make sure we had all the details worked out, and rented any props we wanted to include. We even set up a mock dinner party to include some of my custom designed menus, favors and invitations (coming later this week as part 2!). Then I hired two more professionals to make my day complete, Liz Stewert Floral Design and Amber and Paige with Studio Bride. Liz created show stopping flowers to match my new brand since one of the main elements in my new brand is a set of soft florals. Amber and Paige run Studio Bride and are an on-location hair and makeup team. They made sure I was top notch and photo ready, and let me tell you, I was blown away by their skills! If you plan on actually being in your photoshoot (instead of just props) I would hands down recommend hiring someone for hair and makeup. You spend so much time prepping and making every detail perfect, no need to neglect yourself!

I hope you enjoy these beauties! Next week I’ll be posting an interview with Amalie on everything you need to know when hiring a brand photographer!
